So let me tell you about how I became a CHANEL lover when I discovered that structured perfume creation is truly an art form.

A few years ago, the CHANEL team reached out to me. They sent me some products, and then they invited me on this incredible trip to the South of France, in Grasse, where you got to experience CHANEL in its fullest glory. But the journey didn't even start there - it began when they took me to this place in New York where you can experience their full fragrance range. It's an incredible CHANEL beauty store with a perfumer where you test out every fragrance. You see what you like, you guess what they are. You have some fun. I picked some cute blenders and that's when I thought, "Wow, this world is so cool." This is me at Atelier Beauté CHANEL in New York City:

I started learning about Olivier Polge, the in-house perfumer at CHANEL. This was completely new to me! If you're a fragrance person, you know it, but I didn't know that most brands don't have an in-house perfumer – most work with multiple different fragrance houses. I was so intrigued by him, and it turned out, he creates fragrances like music. He's a classically trained musician, and it's almost like he's composing the most gorgeous music with scents. He's like, boom, this man is incredible! So when CHANEL invited me on this trip to the South of France, I was like, "Sign me up!" I took my favorite CHANELs with me, but they had fragrance waiting for us when we landed. The next day, we got to meet other people from the CHANEL team, but the highlight was meeting Olivier himself …
